Programs & Services
Woods Services provides care for more than 1,000 children, adolescents, adults and seniors with special needs. Services and supports include short and long term residential care, special education, clinical services, therapies, habilitation, vocational training and health care.
A Diverse Population
The diagnoses of those in Woods' care include mental retardation, autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities that are particularly difficult to manage. Supports are also provided to individuals with challenging behaviors, emotional problems, brain injury, neurological disorders and other challenges that interfere with the learning process. Woods has established a niche in that it has the ability to accept the most difficult to manage cases, where other programs may turn them away.
Individual Care
Though Woods has grown in both size and scope, it remains a place where individuals with exceptional needs can live, grow, learn and achieve. Respect for individuality remains a constant, as great care and attention are given to design supports that meet the needs of each person.
Typically, community placement is not an option for Woods' clients - resources in the home, local school, and surrounding community have been exhausted before an individual is referred to Woods. Its extensive range of residential programs allows individuals the support of an environment that best meets their needs.
A Creative Approach
What makes Woods distinctive is the unique continuum of care provided to those it serves. As in its past, Woods continues to be at the forefront of understanding and integration of the latest, empirically supported treatment methods for its clients.
