Planning for the Future
Strategic Planning has long been a hallmark of Woods' success. Every three years, the Management and Board of Trustees work together to prepare strategic plans that guide the organization's efforts and address current needs, opportunities, and future objectives.
Advancing Woods' Mission
In the 2003-2006 planning cycle, the development staff laid the groundwork for a campaign to celebrate Woods’ centennial. The 2006 – 09 plan built upon this foundation to foster a broader culture of institutional advancement and engage in the most ambitious fundraising effort ever undertaken by the organization.
After considerable research, planning, and a number of personal commitments, The Campaign for Woods’ Second Century was publicly launched in June 2007 with the goal of raising $6.4 million by the celebration of the Centennial. Thanks to the support of family and friends, as of June 30, 2009, the end of the 2006-2009 long-range plan cycle, $9.2 million had been raised.
The Campaign for Woods’ Second Century has experienced unprecedented success and enhanced Woods’ ability to face the challenges of the current period of financial instability. The next three years will build upon that early success and bring the Campaign to a successful conclusion.
Celebrating 100 Years of Excellence
In connection to the upcoming Centennial in 2013, Woods' Trustees, families, donors, management and staff are poised to accept the next level of responsibility and excellence. Together, these groups and the community-at-large have the ability to enrich the lives of the exceptional people served by Woods now and in the future by supporting The Campaign for Woods' Second Century .
Among the specific objectives of the Campaign are –
