Building the Endowment is an immediate and high priority for Woods. Endowment funds will help support the services provided for Woods' clients for years into the future. It is the only revenue source that can generate income without regard to future enrollment trends or fluctuations in government funding.

Sustaining Continuity for People with Special Needs

Those who have loved ones at Woods take comfort in the fact that it is competent and well managed. Historically, the organization has been able to provide a high quality of life for those it serves through fees collected for services, enriched by donations from annual fundraising efforts. Because the majority of Woods' clients are funded by public agencies, the concern is that declining revenues from these sources will make it difficult to sustain the services provided to those in its care.

A strong endowment for Woods Services is vital because it gives the organization the resources to support new and innovative programs not funded by traditional sources. Interest from Endowment funds will also provide a steady stream of revenue during unpredictable financial times.

Through the support of private contributions and investments, the Woods Services Foundation holds funds totaling approximately $31,000,000. This represents only 25% of Woods' annual operating budget.

Creating a Stable Financial Future

In order to advance the organization to a heightened level of stability, Woods seeks to substantially grow its endowment resources to $50,000,000. Doubling the Woods endowment by 2013 will help ensure a secure future for the organization and those in its care.
