Woods announces National Campaign Cabinet Chair
June 27th, 2007
Mitchell Pozez, a member of Woods' Board of Trustees, will serve as the National Chairman of The Campaign for Woods' Second Century. As Chairman, Pozez will work in concert with Woods' Senior Management and the Campaign Cabinet to guide Woods' fundraising efforts. Members of the Cabinet from across the nation will serve as advocates for Woods and assist the organization in successfully meeting its campaign goals.
"I am committed to enlisting the participation of the strongest possible team to work in support of the campaign," said Pozez. As the brother of a long-term Woods' client, Pozez will bring not only business and philanthropic expertise to the campaign, but a passion to advocate for the people served by Woods.
Pozez has served on Woods' Board of Trustees for six years and is currently its Vice Chairman. He joined the board after his father's death in 1999. Shaol Pozez was a long time Woods' Trustee and a major supporter. Mitchell Pozez has carried on his family legacy, culminating in his chairing the Campaign.
The owner of Woodland Investments, Inc., a real estate and energy investment company, Pozez served as President and Chairman of The Fountains Continuum of Care, Inc. until its sale to Sunrise Senior Living in 2005. With his leadership, the Fountains grew into one of the nation's leading companies that provides housing and services to aging Americans through 19 retirement communities in 14 states.
Pozez is a resident of Tucson, Arizona where he is actively involved in community activities. He is currently President of Council House, a non-profit, low-income senior apartment community. He is also an executive committee member of the Southern Arizona Jewish Federation where he chairs their annual 2007 Federation campaign and Israel Emergency Campaign. Pozez also serves as an advisory board member of The Arizona Center for Judaic Studies at the University of Arizona. Mr. Pozez is married and has three children. His brother has been a Woods' client for 52 years.
"It has never been more imperative that our community realize the vital importance of philanthropic support," said Woods' President, Dr. Robert Griffith. "Mitchell will carry our message into the homes and businesses of those ready to join us in this ambitious effort. With his leadership, we can continue to provide quality care for people with special needs."
