Woods Receives Leadership Gift

Woods Services, a non-profit organization serving more than 1,400 children and adults with developmental, emotional or brain-injury related disabilities, announces that the Family of Charles Wolf has made a gift of $172,000 in support of the Endowment component of The Campaign for Woods' Second Century."It is incumbent upon us to preserve the financial stability of an organization that has been home to my brother, Charles, and hundreds of other individuals with disabilities for 60 years." As Planned Gift Co-Chair for The Campaign for Woods' Second Century, Fred Wolf recognizes the impact that legacy gifts make on the longevity and success of an organization.
$100,000 of this gift represents a bequest from Margaret H. Wolf, mother of Fred and Charles. During her lifetime, Margaret provided a considerable amount of support of Woods' endowment resources. This gift from the Wolf family will ensure the stability of Woods as it looks to the future.
Increasing the impact of the Wolf family gift is the fact that a portion of it will be applied toward the Kresge challenge.
The Woods Services Foundation was recently awarded a challenge grant of $415,000 from the Kresge Foundation of Troy, Michigan to be used to support the capital component of The Campaign for Woods' Second Century. Kresge Foundation grants are among the most respected and sought-after among non-profit organizations.
Invest in a Second Century of Excellence
Such support is critical to Woods at this time. Woods has been awarded a challenge grant from The Kresge Foundation. This "all or nothing challenge" requires Woods to raise an additional $2,500,000 by December 31, 2008 in order to receive the $415,000 grant for the construction of Woods' new Medical, Dental and Employee Training Center.
